The 100% owned, Sturgeon-Darkwater property covers 28,190 ha in the historic producing Sturgeon Lake Greenstone Belt.  The property is accessible year-round by paved roads connected to highway 599, and is located 250 km from the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Through staking and strategic acquisitions, Midex consolidated a dominant land position in the belt, including the past producing Darkwater Gold Mine.  The underground mine operated briefly in the 1930’s, closing in 1937.
